The Chamber of National Family Therapy Organisations (NFTO) is one of three autonomous chambers of European Family Therapy Association (EFTA).
Within the EFTA, our mission is to promote systemic thinking and practice throughout Europe, not only in those countries who are members of the NFTO Chamber of EFTA. We share the vision of helping other countries develop family therapy within national boundaries and support their effort aimed at recognition for the discipline in different contexts. As the NFTO Chamber in particular, we focus on developing the training standards, scientific and study exchange, promotion and monitoring standards of qualified practice and supervision.
The representatives of the national and regional family therapy associations that make up the NFTO Chamber of EFTA have been meeting for some years now, and have established a strong network of co-operative relationships. We believe that such a network based on support and shared initiatives may bring about improvement of systemic thinking and practice concerned with the developement of families, human systems and health.
